Brother Michael Simeone is a forty year member of Teamsters Local Union 17 joining in 1970 while employed at Rio Grande Motorway, he was elected Steward in 1972 and served in that capacity not only at Rio Grande, but also Delta Truck Lines and Emery Worldwide until 1988; at which time Brother Simeone was elected Business Representative for Local 17.

In 1998 he was elected President of the Local, and in 2000 Brother Simeone was elected Secretary-Treasurer/Executive Principal Officer of the Local and continues to serve the membership in that position. Brother Simeone brings years of experience as Trustee for Joint Council 3 having served on the UPS National and Central Region Negotiating Committees in 1990, 1993, 1997 and 2002, as well as serving on the UPS National and Central Region Grievance Committee since 1990. In 2005 he also became a member of the UPS CSI National Negotiating Committee and Chairman of the UPS CSI Central Region Grievance Committee.

Brother Simeone is also a member of the Joint Western NMFA Supplemental Freight Negotiating Committee and has been since 2002 and a member of the JWAC Grievance Committee since 2001. In addition he was also the Vice President of the Colorado AFL-CIO from 2001-2005.

He is also the Chairman of the N.M.F.A. Joint Western Area P&D & Office Grievance & Negotiating Committee and member of N.M.F.A. National Negotiations & Grievance Committees and still on the National UPS Negotiating Committee and also a current member of the Teamsters National Grievance Committee.

Duane joined Teamsters Local 17 in 1987 when he was hired as a driver at Yellow Freight in Denver. He is currently the elected President of Local 17, a position he has held since 2001.

His first union position was as elected Steward in 1991. He was next elected as a Local 17 Trustee in 1995 and hired full time as a Business Agent in 1996.

He was elected as a Local 17 Delegate to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters conventions in 1996, 2001, and 2006.

As Business Agent he has represented the members of Local 17 employed at almost all of the companies Local 17 has contracts with and currently represents members employed at UPS Package, UPS Freight, Meadow gold Dairies, Keebler Snacks, Interstate Brands, and the Movie industry drivers.

Over the last 14 years Duane has negotiated numerous contracts including, Acme Warehouse, Cook-McCann Concrete, Meadow Gold Dairies, Keebler Snacks, Laidlaw Bus, Menlo Worldwide, and numerous movie industry agreements, and is a member of the UPS Central Region negotiating committee and participated in the UPS National negotiations.

Duane serves as the Co-Chair of the UPS Rocky Mountain Joint State Grievance Committee, Chairs the Wisconsin Area Panel Grievance Committee, is a member of the UPS Freight Central Region Grievance Committee, and sits on UPS Package Central Region and National grievance panels.

Duane has been involved in many Local 17 organizing campaigns, educational seminars, and membership activities. And, he has dedicated himself to representing the interests of the members of Teamsters Local 17 in every way possible.

Gary joined the Teamsters in September of 1989 as a part time switcher for Roadway Express in Toledo, Ohio.  Three years later Gary transferred to Denver by means of a Change of Operations and continued to work at Roadway.  He has been an elected shop steward several years.

He became a Trustee in 2005 and has since been re-elected by the membership.  Gary also acts as the Local 17 website administrator.  He continues to work for YRC (Yelow Roadway Corp.) as a P&D driver

Ed has been a Steward, Business Agent, Organizer, IBT Representative and Principal Officer.

He has served many leaders in his 29 year career and has strived to improve the quality of life of Teamster families and those seeking to be a part of the Teamsters. Ed has come full circle and is now working for a Teamster Local that has a strong uniting vision for the future of working men and women in Colorado and Wyoming.

He proudly serves Local 17 as the Recording Secretary and Business agent for the City and County of Denver. Ed works tirelessly to continue organizing the unorganized and represent the members of Local 17 with a passion that cannot be dampened by critics and anti-labor groups.
